A Resident Graduates....
The residents, staff and guests celebrated another graduation at the HOUSE OF HEALING. A mother and her three precious children are embarking on a new adventure....A new and exciting chapter of their lives in their new home is just beginning.
In her graduation address, "Sue" spoke of the experiences that brought her to the HOUSE OF HEALING, the long road of discovery, reflection and growth she embarked on after her arrival. She spoke of her children, her love for them and the lessons she learned with them during their nine month stay. "Sue" expressed gratitude to those that helped her along her journey, the staff, volunteers, fellow residents and her family for helping her attain this difficult goal.
She leaves the HOUSE OF HEALING a lot differently than she arrived. When "Sue" entered the House of Healing she was separated from her children, unemployed, and facing criminal charges. During her stay, she was reunited with her children, reevaluated her personal values, improved her parenting skills, learned how to keep a home and a budget, settled her legal issues, found employment and began saving money. Her dreams of going to college and beyond (and donating a million dollars to the HOUSE OF HEALING) are now a realistic goal!
We commend her on her hard work and look forward to watching her continue to grow and prosper.
